Separate Reality From the Story in Your Head
A manager notices that one of their strongest employees has become quieter in meetings and missed two deadlines.
The facts are:
- — two deadlines were missed
- — participation decreased
But the manager's mind may immediately create a story:
"They are losing motivation."
That story may be true. But it is not yet a fact.
Take one problem you are currently worried about and divide a page into three columns: FACT, STORY, UNKNOWN.
Which story am I currently treating as a fact?
